June 4

You know I had all kinds of plans for today. And what really have I accomplished? One load of laundry. A trip to the dry cleaners, a stop at a friend's house to drop something off, a stop at the bead store to shop for someone's birthday, a quick stop at the grocery store. I think that's about it.

Mostly because inside my head looks like this painting.

Does not help that I'm reading Moonwalking with Einstein which is a book about memory.Speaking of which, 35 years ago today I graduated from high school.

Here's a pleasant memory. Taken in the early 1990s in Lee, NH, at the traffic circle while waiting for our order at Antonio's Drive-in. (It's a stupid McDonalds now. That is the opposite of progress.) My kids loved to stop here as much as I did. We'd play word games or watch the race cars being towed away or towards the racetrack down the road. They made a great Pizza Burger. But my favorite was an Eastern Sandwich on white bread with ketchup and it came steaming hot wrapped in wax paper.

Just trying to distract myself as surgery is tomorrow and what haven't I done or thought about that needs doing. See? I'm my own problem. Because I can't sit still long enough to stitch.
